Booking a private customized course was one of the best moves I ever made. As an ex soldier I can appreciate what's involved and I am amazed at what I have learned, even with my experience. I only wish this kind of course had been around when I was 50 odd years younger. I have more confidence and am more alert than i've ever been. I salute the instructor who was friendly understanding and patient as I approach my 70th birthday.Joe, Co. Dublin. Ireland.
As a professional world travelled equestrian and ex-serviceman myself I can acknoweledge and appreciate it when I see or meet another professional coach. I sent my two 16 year old nieces on a course who were understandably cautious and unsure to start with. However when they finished they had a completely different attitude and said they really enjoyed it, saying it was fun as well as educational and that certain mistakes they had been making will not be happening again because of their new awareness and physical ability.Mick, Co. I am very pleasantly surprised to learn what I have learnt from these classes. I have increased my alertness and danger radar and actually walk along the street with a much more confident stride because of this, therefore probably unknowingly sending out a different signal than I normally would because of my new found confidence. If I do need to carry a handbag with me, I now only put into it what I would specifically need for that day and not the kitchen sink! I also have the physical back-up techniques if I should need them.Doreen, Chiswick, Middlesex. U.K.
I'm really glad i've taken these classes. I've learned so much, and the real life street type scenarios are definately realistic. It's one thing learning something robotic sytle, but you have to allow for different sizes and people can move differently. I never knew about appraising the aggressor, so now I know what type of technique I need to employ if I have to. However, I feel I am in more control and can avoid and prevent problems more often than not.

I'm in the security industry and my job requires considerable control and restraint. I have studied different forms of martial arts and came on this course because of it's informality and to see what more I could learn. I'm pleased to say I am now far more clued up on the medical implications of certain strikes, general medical knowledge and the psychological aspects of awareness and surveillance. I'm still enjoying the practice and look forward to learning more.

I'm glad i've taken these lessons, not only because they've helped my awareness but have contributed greatly to my co-ordination. I like to dance and I feel the lessons have helped me that way also. I've met some very nice people and my confidence has boosted. It's friendly and no one has to do anything they are not able to. It is well thought out and i'm happy because i've lost weight as well. Thanks a lot guys.

'I would love to take self-defence lessons but never get around to doing anything about it'. I can't remember how many times I have said that to myself over the years and then I saw an advert in the local newspaper.
Taking private lessons with Les Roberts 'The self-defence doctor' is one of the best things I ever did. when I responded to the ad, Les suggested that initially we have a chat in order for him to explain his concept. He then had to plan an individual strategy for me as I have had two spinal operations and, as such, would be limited with certain kicks etc. It's not all about kicking, hitting and blocking. The thing which impresses me more than anything about Les is his passion for instilling awareness and prevention into the curriculum. There is also time set aside for studying the human body which makes you appreciate the devastating impact you can have on an attacker if not controlled.
I cannot speak too highly about 'The Self-defence Doctor'. It is some of the best money I spend and would recommend it for anyone young and old.
